"This project tells the story of Chronic Wasting Disease in the Midwest and the differences in management strategies and outcomes between Wisconsin and Illinois. The disease which effects cervids (deer, moose, elk…) has been spreading across the continent and has made a few intercontinental jumps all within ~65 years of its discovery in Colorado. When it was first discovered in Wisconsin and Illinois in the same year, the two states initially managed it in similar ways, but political pressures in Wisconsin resulted in a shift in strategies and a difference in outcomes. This project utilizes ESRI’s StoryMap product as well as their JavaScript SDK for the line graph symbology on top of the chloropleth."
